Whether you choose a leisurely walk,  a scenic boat cruise, or enjoy a trolley ride, The Woodlands Waterway District has a little something for everyone. Officially opened in April of 2008, The Waterway connects four major attractions in The Woodlands - The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion, The Woodlands Marriott Hotel & Convention Center, Waterway Square and The Woodlands Mall. On weekdays, you will find the area bustling with the activities of corporate America, since the area is home to such notable corporations as Anadarko Petroleum, Woodforest National Bank, and U.S. Oncology, to name a few.  Whether shopping or out to enjoy a relaxing day along the waterway, folks enjoy many amenities and activities.  Evenings and on the weekends you will find this a place people use to get away and relax.

From happy hour hangouts to quaint pubs and fine dining, The Waterway area has it all. Many restaurants have inside dining or patio areas where you can enjoy a pleasant lunch or relaxing evening dining. Great restaurants such as Grimaldi's Coal Fire Pizza, La Lupita Mexican Cuisine & Bar, Hubble & Hudson Market & Crush Wine Bar line the streets. Within walking distance or a quick ride on the trolley or water taxi, you can enjoy such notable restaurants as Cheesecake Factory, P.F. Chang's, Fleming's Steakhouse and Mi Cocina.

Looking for live entertainment?  The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion is second to none. The outdoor amphitheater, surrounded by lush forests, provides both traditional concert seating and hillside lawn seating. For a complete listing of upcoming shows and more details on this venue please visit their official website: http://www.woodlandscenter.org/welcome.html. A covered skybridge connects the pavilion with the beautiful Marriott Hotel & Convention Center. With 12 floors, 336 rooms and over 70,000 sq. feet of convention center space and meeting rooms this hotel offers visitors luxury accommodations in the heart of The Woodlands Waterway District

Waterway Square is a one acre public plaza that serves as the centerpiece of The Woodlands Waterway District. With a synchronized, music inspired light and water show, this attraction is truly one-of-a-kind. A 120 foot long wall, standing 10 feet high, shoots water nearly 75 feet up into the air, in an amazing show. Every fifteen minutes you get to experience a new choreographed show to classic tunes such as Eye of the Tiger, Born in the USA, Footloose and Proud to be an America, just to name a few. During the day, the area is perfect for the kids to come and cool off in the children's play area and splash fountains. During the evening hours, it is a great place to unwind with dinner and drinks while listening to the relaxing sounds of the fountains.

The Woodlands Waterway District is currently in an expansion phase, adding such amenities as a luxury condominium tower, an additional hotel and more fine dining establishments.  So take the time to come out and visit this exciting addition to The Woodlands, TX.

You make it sound so good to walk or take a scenic boat ride through the waterways.  I hope a large number of folks come and see the area.
