In Texas near Dallas we have the oldest and largest flea market in the United States called "First Monday Trade Days" in the little town of Canton. During the one weekend a month they may have over 100,000 visitors.
Yesterday we had BEAUTIFUL blue skies, an 80 degree day, and we headed to Canton to see what treasurers we could find. My God. So much stuff. Sort of half the size of New York City.
One of the stalls had all the trite sayings on little wooden plaques that you expect to see in such a place. One caught my eye and I started to read it. Hmmm....trite, yes, but had some "truths" that I liked.
"In This Home - We do Second Chances." I like that. I don't care who we are, we need a Second Chance at times. I sure do.
"We do Mistakes and I'm Sorrys." Me, too. More mistakes than I would like to admit but may I always say I am sorry.
"We do Hugs. We do Love." If we can't get these at Home, where can we get Hugs and Love?
"We do Grace." May I always remember to "do Grace" and be thankful for what I have.
"We are Family." This perhaps hit me the hardest. It says it all - "We are Family." May we always stick together. Love, support, and defend each other - this little group we have call "Family." We have just one.
