It is the most wonderful time of the year in Parkland
Our seniors are graduating from Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. The class of 2013 is moving on and enjoying the fruits of their labor. Honestly, I think the parents are more excited than the kids and they should be. Their children did awesome and the awards and honors show it. It is students like those in the Class of 2013 which Douglas such an great school.

22 National Merit Scholar Semi Finalists
1 Corporate-Sponsored Merit Scholar
The National Merit Scholarship Corporation recognizes and honors students through out the United States for academic talent.
3 Honorable Mentioned Silver Knight
The Silver Knight Award is a student award program which has been recognizing outstanding students with superior grades and those who have made significant contributions to their school and community for 54 years.
The Silver Knight Award is one of the nation's most highly regarded student's award programs .
The test scores and academic numbers for the class of 2013 will not be out until later this summer. However, it is expected that they will be close to or better than the class of 2012.
In closing, the class of 2013 is leaving behind some pretty big shoes to fill. Truthfully they are some really great kids. Although we will miss them, we are proud of them.
