Move it on Out

If you are moving then you know it is a really really big job. Sorting, packing, cleaning, sorting, packing, cleaning and on and on. And, the longer you've been where you are at... perhaps the more you have stuffed into the corners that haven't been cleaned in years. The clutter can feel overwhelming so how do you even start?

Maybe that is why de-cluttering before listing is so important. Taking the time to remove the fifty thousand family photos, the kids artwork, the special knick knacks that have collected on the coffee tables can all make the job easier later on.

Recently I've had a chance at visiting farms for sale. One thing that has amazed me is the amount of 'clutter' that owners have collected in their barns. Literally my buyers have asked several times, "How will they move all of that in the next four weeks?" And, the reality is, I don't know. I'd have a hard time imagining moving my own house full of stuff in that short a time so I cannot imagine having multiple outbuildings to work through as well.

The reasoning behind the de-cluttering isn't because we are 'mean' but really because we want to help you out. The ride to selling your home is a journey in itself and the more there is to pack the more stressful it can be.
