Mortgage Interest Rates Affected by Today's Jobs Report

An improving economy and positive news in the job market often leads to higher interest rates, in the same way a struggling economy means rates are lowered to help stimulate it.

  

With today's jobs report, mortgage rates hit a new 15 month high.  It's been fairly inconsistent/volatile recently, so hopefully it means it will come down again?  But if you were on the fence about buying or refinancing, it's a good time to at least get an application in to see what you qualify for in case the trend continues up.
