"Del Mar" is a unique community made up of several neighborhoods along the western shore of Fidalgo Island, minutes from downtown Anacortes.
The "Rancho San Juan Del Mar" Neighborhood Association was incorporated in 1950, for the purpose of providing water service and recreational facilities to its members. All home owners belong to the Association which provides a community water system, boat moorage rights in Langley Bay, and private beach access at Alexander Beach.
Where is Del Mar Community?
This area is west of Anacortes and stretches south, outside the city line on the west side of Fidalgo Island along Marine Drive and Rosario Road to Seaview neighborhood. It includes the areas known as Del Mar, Biz Point, Alexander Beach, Seaview and The Pointe. (See map opposite)
Del Mar Community provides water service to just over 300 homes and provides recreational facilities.
The reasonable HOA of dues cover water, the maintenance and operation of the water system infrastructure, as well as maintenance of three recreational sites - Alexander Beach, the Langley Bay small boat harbor, and Telegraph Bight (a secluded beach on the south side of Biz Point).
Del Mar Neighborhoods
Del Mar- Spectacular views of Burrows Bay and the San Juan islands make this a great place to enjoy amazing sunsets. Some homes are perched on the side of the cliffs and some are located on the way down to the beach.
If you enjoy private settings and desire morning strolls along Alexander Beach, this is the place for you. Homes vary in year built and size, and vacant lots do come available on occasion.
Homes for sale in Del Mar tends to command higher prices due to their waterfront and view settings. The location is handy to downtown Anacortes and Skyline Marina.
Biz Point - is a sought after address with many homes offering beautiful westerly views of the San Juan Islands, Burrows Bay and Langley Bay. Homes on the south side of Biz Points on Telegraph Bay offer spectacular views of the Juan De Fuca Straits and the San Juan islands.
The setting for the most part is wooded with winding roads leading to secluded homes with great views. Homes vary greatly in size and price, prices ranging from the mid $200's for cabins to up to $1 million for luxury waterfront homes.
Homes for sale at Biz Point are in great demand. This community lies outside of the Anacortes city limits but is minutes from downtown and only minutes to the NAS Whidbey Air Station. Properties are serviced by a community water system and individual on-site septic systems.
Seaview - A newer 90's development at the southern most tip of the Del Mar neighborhood Association yet only minutes from Anacortes downtown and NAS Whidbey Air Station. The homes feature large lots for those who desire plenty of open yard space as well as some spectacular views.
There is a wide variety of styles and sizes of homes to choose from. Homes for Sale in Seaview can vary from the mid $300's to $750K and up.
The Pointe -This community sets at the northernmost section of the Del Mar Community. The Pointe is known for it's "Executive" style custom homes. These quality homes climb up the hill and as a result have amazing views as well as roomy lots and spacious floor plans.
Over the past years prices have ranged from the mid $400's to well over $1 million. However the average price is in the $600K to $700K range. Some areas of the Pointe are either part of a community water system or serviced by the City of Anacortes with individual on-site septic systems.
Homes for sale at The Pointe are for the discerning buyer who enjoys living in a secluded area but close to town amenities.
