Good morning, Mona..... we have many small mill towns in my area....Franklin MA was a mill town and now only one mill continues to operate.... the others have been converted to business and/or residential condos that sell for several hundred thousand each.... total revitalization of our community.

Hi Mona,

I think these buildings can be saved and then re purposed.

Then the city would not have to have the building torn down when it could be saved.

Have a great day in Dillsboro.

Best, Clint McKie

Hi Mona, These wonderful old buildings stand a monument to the lives dedicated to the community. From the sweat and toil, wages were earned and provided employment for other aspects of the community. Sad to see these monuments of this amazing past left to rot away. I hope the visionaries in the community will do the right thing and preserve it.

It is always fascinating when we come upon little towns which have fallen into abandonment and disrepair.  Yet, with little imagination you can conjure images of how they must have been in days past.

Looks like some very interesting old buildings.  They should make some excellent artist studios or they could probably even be made over into condos.  I'd hate to see them destroyed.  It is almost always more environmentally friendly to renovate rather than build new from scratch.
