When do the 'thank yous' end?

I sell a lady a house and she invites me to her house warming party. I say 'thank you' for the invitation and I will be there. She sends me an email for to 'thank me' for my RSVP and she is glad I can come. I go to the party and give her a gift. She sends me a beautiful card to 'thank me." Do I send her a 'thank you' for the beautiful card? When do the 'thank yous' end?

Thank you for saying thank you. Oh, and thank you as well. No, don't send her a thank you in reply to her thank you card. And you thought this was a thankless occupation!

The thank you's can go back and forth for quite a while.  I think I'd let them stop with the "thank you" she sent for the gift!
