It’s a Small World After All!   (This must be my Disney-themed week)

I tuned in to listen live to Margaret Rome’s weekly radio program today because I’m usually not able to Margaret Romelisten at Noon Sundays (EST).  And Carra Riley was going to be her guest so definitely wanted to listen.

Have you listened to Margaret’s radio show?  Well, let me tell you what a small world it can be.

Carra Riley can dance circles around the social media crowd.  She offers a wealth of knowledge about how to make your presence known, whether it’s on Google+ or Facebook or any of the others.

Carra RileyMargaret Rome does Real Estate the Rome Way and in fact has written a book by the same name.

Put them together and you have a synergy of cooperation and giving.

And it is a small small world.  One of Carra’s Social Media buddies whom she met on Facebook called in.   And then, Tim Kinzler, Keller Williams Boca Raton called in.  He had connected with Carra on Facebook and  Foursquare as well.

I think Tim had been in the area near Carra and looked up a restaurant using Foursquare.  There it was.. Carra’s review on Foursquare.

I know Tim from the Women’s Council of Realtors here.   He doesn’t know it but because of a story he told, tim Kinzler I decided that this Foursquare thing wasn’t as silly as I thought.

If memory serves, Tim is on Foursquare and through his being active on it found a new client
.

It is a small world, especially with Social Media.  You can make friends and keep in touch with those you already know.

The key to making the most of your time
on Social Media....Facebook, Google+, LinkedIn, Pinterest or whatever is about to pop next into our culture...

is to do what it says.. be social, be active on it, and for sure, don’t just sit back and lurk.

Will- it was a good one today, as always!  Thank goodness for the podcasts!  Did you mean the Stager with the Texas accent! LOL

Michael- it's funny... I was listening then heard Tim call in.  He's the one who inspired me to get on Foursquare.

Anna- I feel like I know so many people thanks to ActiveRain and all of the other social media.

BARFF- that she does.

Lou- you never know who you're going to "bump" into.

My girl today asked me "what is Tumbr" and I said don't know.  Just know it is another social media and just sign up.

There seems to be new one at least monthly and I just gave up questioning what they do and just sign up.

Publicity is publicity.  Take it and enjoy.

Kathy, It was a fun show. Thanks for the text asking the question of Carra. I also know Tim Kinsler who called in. Now that was really connecting the dots! Carra was terrific on the radio show. By the middle of the week it will be on the Podcast at www.wcbm.com.

Morning Kathy with the invention of cell phones the world has shrunk to nothing.  50 years ago no-one had one even though there were invented in the early 20th century.  Imagine being anywhere in the world and with no wire connection being able to talk to someone walking or driving anywhere else in the world.  Technology is a wonderful thing and I marvel at it all the time.  Sorry got off on a rant.  Thanks for the post

Scott- good... I'm glad you're so busy!!!

Kevin- LOL... I did that too.  Anytime I'd hear of something new, I just signed up!  Then, I'd forget about it and when I went to sign up later, I saw that I already had an account.

Margaret-   thank goodness for podcasts.  I had to miss part of the show, so i can play catch up.

Joan-   I wonder what it would have been like if there had been all of this social media when I first started working.

James- I remember when we were looking for our first house here (about 26 years ago).  Not everyone had a cell phone.  When we saw a house we were interested in, we'd find a pay phone and call our the agent.

Conrad- please head to her blog and subscribe!!!
