Dillon, a Summit County town of approximately 2.4 square miles, can pack a lot of fun into your summer with activities hosted weekly. Lake Dillon, created from the Dillon Dam, comprises 0.9 square miles of the town and offers lots of water fun. Every Tuesday, starting June 11 through August 27, you can take a tour of the lake with the "Explore" Lake Dillon guided boat tours. Rental boats are available at the marina along with guided sailing tours or sailing lessons.
The Dillon Amphitheatre hosts the Friday night concert series every Friday beginning June 21 and running through August 30. Some of the line up this year includes: One Ton Pig, California Honeydrops, Dead Winter Carpenters, Too Slim & the Taildraggers, The New Orleans Suspects, Something Underground, Pato Banton & the New Generation. Admission to this event is free and fun for the entire family. Every Wednesday offers country dancing, join dance instructor Mike “Tex” DeGarie for dancing your favorite country dances. Not sure how to country dance, that's okay! The first half hour features instructions. Friday mornings host the Dillon Farmer's Market to stock up on your fresh, local produce and retail.
In addition to the Friday night concert series, Dillon hosts the Sunset at Summit County concert series and this year's line up includes: Ron Ivory, 1 on 1, Moses Jones, Homeslice, Forever Dangerous, Jill Carr, and Manuel Molina Latin Combo to name a few. This event is also free to the public and begins Saturday July 6 and runs through September 2.
