Things to do in Cedaredge, CO Surface Creek Walking Trail. Beat the heat and follow the creek...the Surface Creek Walking Trail. This wooded trail is a nice distraction from the summer sun and heat.

Surface Creek Walking Trail runs for almost two miles and parallels the creek the entire way. Wildlife sightings are common with deer and various species of birds being the most common. The occasional bear, coyote and mountain lion also wander into the area.
Walkers, bikers and joggers all enjoy the trail. Beating the summer heat and enjoying the soothing sounds of Surface Creek, is one of many things to do in the summer in Cedaredge, Colorado. The trail starts on NE Jay Avenue just before the golf course clubhouse, and it ends on Deer Trail Avenue.
Cedaredge, Colorado is a small mountain town in Delta County. It's in the Surface Creek Area. It sits at the base of Grand Mesa...the world's largest flat top mountain. Cedaredge has deep agricultural roots. Orchards dot the landscape and fruit growing is still a productive business. Every October the town has a two day Apple Fest which celebrates the season's harvest. Vineyards are becoming popular, and wineries are popping up all over.
There are many unique shops. Starr's Guitars is one of those and the knowledgeable staff, inventory and selection will rival any big city guitar store. A new coffee shop and bookstore just opened on Main Street. Dreamweaver has hard to find books and serves a great cup of coffee. There are a lot of great restaurants, too.
Our population may be small, but our community is big in many ways. Don't just drive through Cedaredge...take some time to get off the beaten path and see what makes this community so wonderful.
