“Mortgage rates are low but have started to increase. This shift in rates creates home buyer urgency which leads to more homes sales,” says Turner. “More home owners are inclined to sell when they see the increase in home sales. As the supply decreases home prices can then slowly increase”.
Buyers should not let the price of a home be discouraging. Turner says this is the best advice he has for home buyers in this market.
“93% of homes purchased in St. Tammany are financed. You must always consider the payment. $5,000 on a 30 year loan is $27.00 a month. I would not let .90 cents a day get in the way of buying my new home,” says Turner.
