Use Video to Promote Yourself and Your Business

Services for Real Estate Pros with HouseLens: Video Marketing for Real Estate

A little over a week ago, I introduced you to HouseLens and explained why video is such a great addition to your listings. But did you know that you can also use video to promote yourself, your business, or your brokerage?

Thanks to the advent of the Internet and social-media websites like YouTube, Facebook, and Twitter, today's consumers are accustomed to accessing information quickly and easily. And they love to access that information in video form. In fact, according to eMarketer (which researches and reports on digital media, marketing, and commerce), 77% of Internet users will be watching video online at least once a month by 2014.

So if you don't have a social-media or at least an Internet presence, with informative video content to go along with it, you're likely to get passed over in favor of your more media-savvy competitors.

There are many different ways video is useful for real estate professionals. Here are just a few:

  • Emphasizing your expertise. Are you an agent who specializes in selling or finding homes in your city's “it” neighborhoods? Does your brokerage focus on new construction, historic homes, or vacation homes? Use video to publicize your specialties so customers with strong preferences or special situations will know they can turn to you for help.

  • Marketing your added value. Maybe you're a successful serial renovator, so you can offer expert advice on fixer-uppers. Perhaps you've managed rental properties or commercial buildings, so you can help buyers seeking those kinds of investments. Or your brokerage might be the oldest in the market, able to draw on generations of experience. A video can bring those distinctives to customers' attention.

  • Highlighting special perks or achievements. Do you offer perks (like HouseLens video tours) that your competitors don't? Did you win a banner listing for your city's most desirable neighborhood? These are the kinds of things you can highlight in a video to make your business shine.

  • Recruiting top sellers. Every brokerage wants to be the top seller in the market—but you've got to have top-selling agents to reach that goal. You can use video to show the area's best agents why your organization is where they want to be: put together a personal introduction, highlight any perks you offer, or film a virtual tour of your comfortable office.

  • Making things personal. Maybe you're a broker who wants to introduce prospective buyers and sellers to your amazing team. Or perhaps you're an agent applying to a new brokerage or an awards committee. Video bios are a compelling, personal way to highlight what's remarkable about your people, your qualifications, or your achievements.

Whether you're an agent or a brokerage, HouseLens can help you with these kinds of videos and more. In addition to our full-motion walk-through house tours, we offer professional videos and commercials of every kind to make your real estate business a success. Want to know more? Jim, creating videos is a great tool for reaching out to the consumer.  Learning to add new features is so important, and I need to get on board with more of that.  Thanks for the information!!

You're welcome, Dan! I think one of the biggest benefits of video is how personal it is--customers feel like they've met you without having to leave their homes. Plus, with today's mobile devices, you can reach people literally anytime, anywhere.
