How to create a URL from a photo or flyer.
Have you ever wanted a URL to link back to on a flyer or photo for a specific property on Twitter, linkedin, google+ or facebook?
- A different link than your website or MLS?
- A unique URL which gives the consumer the information they need to know to connect with you directly?
It's easy on Flickr.
This is a flyer for a lot my daughter has listed with Mimi Lundy of RE/MAX Prestige Properties in Lake Havasu City, Arizona.
My daughter NEEDS to get this "Dirt In The Desert" sold quickly so we decided to help the agent on the very low priced listing by creating pins that can be tweeted and photos that can be shared showing just how beautiful this "diamond in the desert" is. Do you know someone wanting to retire in the warm weather, close to the Lake Havasu and the Colorado River?
The lot originally sold for $29,000 and is now listed at $14,950 or bring your best offer for a quick sale!
Once the link to the flyer is created on FLICKR you can customize the URL if you like on bitly.com with the property address.
Flicker link: http://www.flickr.com/photos/carrariley/9138966150/
Bitly.com link with the memorable URL address: http://bit.ly/Lot112PV
The seller can remember the URL to share and so can you!
Steps to creating a URL from a photo or flyer on Flickr
1. Create a username and password on Flickr
Keep the name with your business brand in mine if you are going to be using flickr to be a marketing
tool for your properties.
2. Upload a profile photo and add all your contact information on your profile page.
This is a very important page to fill out completely with all the information you might included on your activerain
profile or google+ about page.
The photos you post all come back to this flickr account so this is like another website for people to find out
about you and how to connect to you.
You can check mine out as an example: Carra Riley
3. Take a screen shot of your flyer or upload a photo.
4. Go to upload
Click upload from the computer to click and drag the photo or flyer to the upload page
5. Fill in the description and add tags
The description box is where you can really fill in the consumer with all the details of the property and more
ways to connect with you.
Fill in your contact information as well and once done click the upload button to the right and you will have
immediate access to a specific URL.
6. Obtain the URL and create a custom URL at bit.ly if you want one with the property address.
Flickr URL: http://www.flickr.com/photos/carrariley/9138966150/
Bit.ly URL: http://bit.ly/Lot112PV Lot 112 was taken on bit.ly PV for Pioneer Valley was added to the end.
NOTE: The bit.ly link cannot be used as the link on Pinterest. Must use the flickr link!
7. Now you have a URL to add to Pins, Tweets, post on facebook, google+ and linked in.
See how nice this pin looks on Pinterest. Click the link then click the photo and you will see hot it connects to the flyer and the flyer to the profile so the consumer can connect to you! I shared this on my Real estate around the world board. Do you have a board like that on Pinterest to share your friends listings?
One more tip on Flickr. Upload all the photos you have on a property and create a SET where you can also have a URL or an embed code to a slide show that you can share with the consumer on a specific property.
This is the URL for the link to the property slide show. Every photo has contact information and the description includes the specifics of the property for sale. A screen shot of the flyer and the MLS information is included in this slide show.
Flickr has connections with Tumbler, facebook, twitter, wordpress, blogger, live journal and facebook so you can connect directly from the site once you have created a set.
You can also create sets with community photos that can be included in planned communities, or neighborhoods with parks and shopping. The sets you create with your neighborhood photos can be used over and over again if you specialize in a specific area. Galleries are also an option to create some diversity with your area photos!
The seller will really love your marketing skills when you tell them about what you can do with your flickr account!
