I thought I would put together a new weekly blog piece with some of my personal insights about interesting or noteworthy properties I see each week on our Whistler Tuesday Realtor Tour. Like in many towns and cities across North America, realtors on a weekly basis go out on a "caravan" tour to see all the newest listings in the market. It's a great way for all of us as professionals to have a closer look at what's new on the market. That way we can be the eyes and ears for our clients and really get a good feel for what's new out there in the Whistler real estate marketplace.
In Whistler we have this tour every Tuesday morning and typically 30 or so Whistler realtors attend. There are over 100 active agents in the Whistler market but of course, the 80/20 rules applies so really it's only 20 to 30 of those 100 agents that really do the bulk of Whistler real estate sales. So, those are usually the ones that come out on tour.
There's also a realtor tour in Pemberton but because it's a much smaller market with fewer new listings coming to market each week we typically hold that tour once per month instead of once per week. I plan to blog my thoughts on the newest Pemberton listings as well so stay tuned for that too.
So, with the background info out of the way, let's get started for this week's Whistler Realtor Tour Roundup shall we?...
Pretty average looking house on Clifftop Lane right? Well yes indeed, it's a beautiful 5 bedroom/5 bath custom 3,300 sq. ft. home currently listed at $1,855,000. But that's not what makes it remarkable in my mind. It's the incredibly well executed kitchen that blew me away. I've seen plenty of gorgeous kitchens here in some Whistler homes. I mean, some real show stoppers but for some reason as soon as I walked into this house my jaw dropped when I saw this kitchen!
Another home of note was this very eclectic and artsy home on Mountainview Drive. With 4.5 bedrooms/4 bathrooms and 2,850 sq. ft. of living space it's currently listed at $2,395,000. This home will need to attract a buyer that this kind of bold decorating can really resonate with. Don't get me wrong, it's a beautiful home but in my view it's not decorated for the masses. The owner had a definite and very dramatic idea of what he wanted his Whistler home to be.
Check out the fantastic tile work in these two bathrooms!
And the best part are the his and hers clawfoot tubs at the foot of the bed in the master bedroom.
Very cool metal sculpture by the front door as well.
Well that's it for the Whistler Realtor Tour Roundup for this week. Join me again next week for another insider view into the best and most interesting new Whistler listings freshly on the market. Thanks for reading!
