Builder Confidence Hits 7 Year High

This year I have sold more new homes than any year since 2009.  Our new home market is in recovery - while people still like to see a deal on a foreclosure, they are finding that the builders who purchased foreclosed lots can often compete with foreclosure prices on new homes.  Call or text Julie Chapman at Chapman Realty at 912-270-6767 for more information about buying a new home in Brunswick and the Golden Isles of Georgia. Thank you Suzi for putting this information out.

Continuing signs the housing market is on the upswing, builder confidence in the market for newly built single family homes hit a significant milestone in June, surging eight points to a reading of 52 on the National Association of Home Builders/Wells Fargo Housing Market Indexes released this week.

It was the first time the index had been above the required 50 for confidence since April 2006, and surpassing this important benchmark reflects the fact that builders are seeing better market conditions as demand for new homes increase.  with the low number of inventory of existing homes, an increasing number of buyers are gravitating toward new home construction.  There is the potential that for the first time since 2007, the housing starts could top the 1 million mark.
