Real estate continuing education (can we get a speaker?)

By

I am taking classes all week to knock out my continuing education requirements.  It reminds me of that saying that went something like, "Those that can, do.  Those that can't, teach."  Don't take that as a blanket statements pertaining to all teachers, but can we at least get a little personality?

I attended a morning class that was dreadful.  I understand that the content isn't always the most exciting, but if the instructor added some inflections to his voice I think I could have coped.

I was signed up for an afternoon class so I set out to find out if it was the same instructor.  Yep!  I decided to skip out.  I knew I couldn't handle the rest of the afternoon.

On the bright side someone called on one of my signs so I am going to show properties to a new potential buyer in a bit.  Maybe it will pay to have cut class!

Sorry but your blog caught my attention.  Hey I am a national speaker that has CE in 28 states.  I am booked 185 days in the US and Canada, problem is many local groups use CE as a non dues way to raise money.  So what happens is instead of using a Professional Speaker that will make you laugh, cry and go wow where did the day go and actually learn something they find one that will work for the least amount of money and cover the material.  Stand up for your rights and demand a speaker that get's it!

ps, I am CE certified in AZ

I try to avoid all those in classroom continuing education requirements especially if they are free. I prefer on-line classes where I get to choose the time and mood; I mostly like the flexibility of being able to start the class at a time I feel more likely to take-in most of the material presented.

Bobbi, I feel your pain!  I sat in on a class last week that was worse than scratching fingernails on a chalk board.  I know I wasn't the only miserable attendee, because you could see it on everyone's face. What a complete waste of precious time.  I will not be attending anything taught by that speaker again.

Having said that, most of the CE classes I attend are great...this was the worst!

These weren't even free.  I walked out on the paid afternoon session.  It was bad.

Oh dear Bobbi I am feeling for you!  But guess we just have to get use to it.  C.E. sometimes is pretty hard to sit through.  Heck I have a hart time sitting still for the real good ones even.  I'm a little hyper.
