It’s that time again everyone. Mario Carey Realty wants to give you some of this weekend’s highlights, upcoming week To-Do’s, and summer time reminders. There is still time to sign up for the Bahamas Humane Society summer camp. For a cost of 125.00$ a week, your child can interact with animals, learn about a new field of work, and have fun! Remember the camp runs from June 24th to July 12th and July 22nd to July 26th from 9am to 12pm.
Your kids can also beat the heat at Atlantis, which has a fun 9,000 square foot Adventure Time themed water obstacle course. The course is run by Cartoon Network 5 days a week from 10am-4pm during June 17th-August 11th.
Another wonderful summer camp happening July 1st-July 26th is REACH’s 13th annual camp for students with Autism and Related Challenges; their siblings are invited to! The camp is free of charge and completely sponsored by REACH, which stands for Resources and Education for Autism and Related Challenges. The summer program takes place at Garvin Tynes Primary School Centre for Autism, ages 4-22 years. For more information or an application, e-mail email@example.com, or stop into the REACH office at Dewgard Plaza, Palmdale (open 10 – 4 weekdays), or call 328- 4123.
Friday and Saturday look like they are going to be fun ones people. Chef Jamall Petty, host of Island flare Celebrity Interview/ cooking show, is holding a “Food Fight”. Student chefs are gearing up and preparing their plantains (the secret ingredient) for the Friday semi-final round that runs at Sandals Royal Bahamian from 11am-2pm and the final round that runs Saturday at The Mall at Marathon from 12pm-2pm. Good luck student chefs and cook it out!
The next exciting weekend To-Do is the Kalik Festival of the Bahama Islands! Come out to Botanical Gardens and enjoy a family fun day with food, dancing, music, demonstrations and cultural festivities! Doors open at 10am and celebrations start at 12pm. Tickets are only 5$ for adults and 2$ for children, so come out and enjoy!
Another fun Saturday event is the Lion Fish Round Up. This event will take place at Green Parrot on East Bay Street. Leave from anywhere Saturday morning and be back to Green Parrot by 3pm. Bring your catch and learn hot to eat, cook, and clean lionfish. Not only will this be an entertaining event with 3,000$ in cash prizes, but Bahamian captains can sell their catch, and the nature of the event diminishes the lionfish population here in The Bahamas. Lionfish have no predators and destroy the natural ecosystem of the oceans. SO FISH THEM OUT, and learn how to do it at Green Parrot this Saturday.
After all the hustle and bustle of Friday and Saturday, Mario Carey Realty recommends a relaxing Sunday out on the beach, at home with your family, or taking some you time. A great way to get some you time and tap into your inner self, relax, and get an enjoyable work out is with our very own new employee, Colleen Carey. She is a top of the line yoga instructor and is providing affordable classes at her own mini yoga studio called “Yogi’s Isle.” For more information, contact her at 477-0461 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Have a great weekend everyone and be safe!
