Ask anyone at Rapid Realty and they'll tell you...two of the most rewarding experiences are the achievement of our agents’ first commission check and giving back to our community. We have not slowed down in either regard!
Since day one I’ve committed myself to creating a business with a strong commitment to bettering our professional selves and the neighborhoods that surround us, and Rapid Realty has become just that.
In 2009, Rapid sponsored a local Brooklyn Little League team called the Cobras. Many of our team members have played in their local Little Leagues growing up, so this one was a natural fit for giving back. In 2010, I donated to The Student Athletes of Positive Direction, a non-profit that promotes academic and personal development among young athletes.
With Rapid’s donation, students were able to attend a college exposure tournament where they displayed their talents in front of 300 college coaches in hopes of being recruited and offered a scholarship. Rockville Center franchise owners Keith and Kathleen Perez and I celebrated the 20th Anniversary of Positive Direction, making another donation for 2011.
Rapid Realty has also supported the wonderful programs of the YMCA Youth & Government, which encourages children to become active participants in government. Helping our communities' children stay active and explore their minds - we're all about that!
We love our communities and another way Rapid enjoys giving back is through food. We like to cook and sharing our fixings with others brings us great joy. For Thanksgiving 2010, we got together to surprise families in need with gift baskets of turkeys and all the necessary fixings. We did the same for seniors in Harlem delivering meals we had prepared.
In 2011, Rapid Realty not only walked the NYC Aids Walk but we sponsored the event by becoming "Wrap-It Ambassadors". We promoted safe sex and had a blast walking the route together. Another 2011 charity event we participated in was the Tilden Hall Coat Drive. We collected and handed out coats for Tilden Hall which provides transitional housing for low-income families.
When Hurricane Sandy hit in 2012, we responded immediately by maxing out our social media outlets to corral donations of food & clothing. Rapid team members literally stuffed the donations into their cars and distributed them to donation sites around the city.
These are just a few examples of our commitment to charitable causes, local organizations and fundraisers around New York City. As we continue to expand to other markets, I will continue to give back. At Rapid, the giving is good.
