Summer Brings Sales - In Foreclosures

As noted last week, I had to change the title, as the seasons have changed.  We are even getting summery weather here SOLD at Auctionin the Seattle - Tacoma area, with temperatures in the high 70's and into at least the 80's for the next six days.

With the better weather, we are seeing a number of homes listed in the local Tacoma paper for upcoming Foreclosure Auctions.  Today there were a total of ten (10) homes listed for sale at the County Courthouse steps in the coming weeks.  Six of these were coming up for auction on Friday, July 5th.  I am guessing that they are hoping the bidders don't stay up too late the night before celebrating the Fourth of July.  Most of the rest of the list were for other Fridays in July, though there was one for the first Friday in August.

That is the Foreclose Sale update for this week, from this locale.  Guess they aren't all going away yet!

Steven, the nicer whether does seem to bring more houses on the market, even the foreclosures.

George -- thank you for stopping by.  Yes, even the foreclosures can be seen in better light in the better weather (but that might mean people can see more of the problems with them as well.

Hope you and yours have a good weekend and a Great, safe and enjoyable 4th!

Still no decernible pattern. I still feel the shadow inventory is pretty heavy and will influence (my market at least) for 12-16 more months at the minimum.

Than -- that is what I am thinking as well, as they just drib and drab the foreclosures out.  I am guessing there may be a bit larger group come out in Sept/Oct before the very slow months of Nov/Dec/Jan.

There are still many more foreclosures in the pipeline, like to see them cleared out sooner rather than later.

Make it a great weekend!

Hi Steven,

Good weather brings out the buyers. Bad weather not so much.

Have a great day and hope for a lot of good weather in the Tacoma area.

Best, Clint McKie

Joe -- I think we all would, so we can get back to a more realistic and consistent set of values.

Clint -- your weather is probably hindering the home buyers a bit at this point, as warm as I hear it is getting down there.

Steven, foreclosures in and around Denver have decreated dramatically, as well as short sales.  Glad to hear you have summer weather, and hope for clear skies!

Joan -- there are still some of them going on -- don't have last year's figures - but they don't seem to be dropping during this year that much.

Yes, having clear skies -- record for today is 87 degrees, and the question is by "How much" will we break it, not "if" it will be broken (some forecasters have us going to 93, 0thers to 95 o6 96!)  For us this is really warm -- and we are getting some humidity (about 66%) which makes the natives really complain about it (though I know it is nothing like the midwest and east where their humidity has triple digits.)

Foreclosure numbers are way down in my area and has had a bit impact on supply

William -- I am sure that any drop in foreclosures will impact supply.

Hope you and yours have a safe and enjoyable 4th!!
