Michael, You are not only a guru but you are a teacher. As Anita points out ... you break it down. I will add that you KISS it. Keep it stupid simple. It requires some thought but we have have it all down ... interchanging it should be natural and easy.
Michael, love your joke and always love your advice! Sometimes we think too hard in trying to make our SEO just right.
Super advice, Michaal as always. Or maybe I should say great post or insightful article. I try to do this, but I know there's still room for improvement. Oh, and this is a good reminder that I sometimes should incorporate the wrong words in my post (maybe via alt tags) if that is the common usage. For example, many say "rugs" but they mean carpet.
Michael, Glad to see you on the "Rain" We would love to be able to read a post from you at least once a week here on the Rain. Thank you for all the great advice. Greatly appreciate it. Have A Great Weekend!
Michael, It's something I'd wondered about in the past. REALTOR or real estate agent? Homes for sale or real estate for sale?
Thanks Michael.. New York State has new guidelines and we are going to have to implement in our advertising.
We will need to have our profile info listed as "licensed real estate salesperson" If all New Yorkers are doing it I guess that it is okay. I need to figure out how to optimize this to make it work for me getting in early? Any thoughts. All ads and profiles need to have that written in.
Hi Michael,
Thanks for the useful info. I will implement it immediately!
Eli, Realtor,Clt,NC
Thanks for the comments everyone! I do appreciate it.
And thank you ActiveRain for the feature!
@Janis Borgueta - send me a private message about this on Google+. Where do you need to have it? In your page titles? In your descriptions? On the footer of your page? Either way- like you said- if everyone else has to do it...we'll just make sure you do it better.
@Liz and Bill- what you wrote essentially means the same thing. And while Google is going to give an "exact match" for one of those phrases- and hypothetically put you #1 in the results- the synonym should also land on page one if you do everything correctly. The good thing is: Both of those phrases could fit in a home page title- and that's really the point.
Learning how to blog is something that I am still in search of through active rain. I do hope to be proficient with blogging so that I can write things to others who have been so good to me on Active Rain. But learning key words is something high on my agenda. Thanks.
Thanks for the tips. I thought that Realtor and real estate agent were probably one and the same thing to google but many guru (consultants) insist on the exact restatement of key words. I'll try your suggestions and see what happens. Thanks.
Interesting something else I have to ask my SEO guys to make sure they are doing this.
Thanks for the tips
This is very good post nd one which is very informative as well. I had no idea how to maximize SEO without being spammy! Thanks for the heads up.
Good pointers as always. Google is getting more fine tuned so it makes perfect sense. Have a great weekend.
Hi Michael....you make it soooo easy to understand when you explain how to Get SEO with our RE web sites. You Certainly are a Expert Search Engine Consultant(too long right?)
It is just something you have to learn in the ever changing world. Thanks for the tips.
Michael this makes so much sense. Thank you for always sharing great tips.
Michael - I like the idea of using one word instead of three. You bring so much wisdom to SEO topics.
Michael, this is something new I learned. The word 'Expert' or 'Guru' perfectly describes who you are. We are blessed that you are here at ActiveRain! Thanks a lot.
Really interesting stuff. Every time I read a post of yours or other SEO consultants I leave with at least a couple nuggets I can apply.
Thanks, Michael! You gave me some "homework" for today for my insurance agency! I need to find my "terms"!
Michael, so glad you put this as a reminder to us...you have said this before but some of us are slow learners (hee, hee)...getting better but doing this well is so important...I think the abbreviations we all miss...many thanks!
This is good advice for when we write blog posts. Take your keywords and phrases and use synonyms throughout. Thanks SEO Guru!
Just want to make sure I am NOT getting something wrong but do you think that "AZ" and "Arizona" are interchangeable?
I wonder because I rank differently for some long tail phrases for "SC' versus "South Carolina" and I do not know why.
Michael, I was not aware of this. Using synonyms makes a lot of sense. Thanks for the info.
Good tips. I was aware of this tactic, but I really want to thank you for the links.
Thanks for the great tips on this blog. Also, thanks for the links for us.
I was aware that Google was doing this, but not really sure how to implement it. Thanks for the examples and the links.
Speaking like the natives, the hunt and peckers doing the query is so important. The logs of how you were found, how you wire and should continue or add to the way you serve up the real estate information is key. I know agents, brokers, REALTORS who find it, SEO as boring as watching paint dry. But if you want success, you better develop a passion for something you would not ordinarily try... like no thank you helpings growing up.
Thanks for the post. New search engine optimization info is always very helpful
Interesting information to roll into what we do. You can never relax when it comes to SEO and getting good rankings.
Always appreciate your advice Michael - now off to check a few pages of my web site!
Michael, as always, you deliver powerful, relevant information. Thanks! Sharon
Thanks for the post. i will need to concentrate on the synonyms a lot more.
Thanks Michael, I have recently started to focus on learning about SEO. I learned something new today.
Michael, as always, thank you for an educational and helpful blog post on the semantics of SEO for REALTORS, RE agents and REAs. :-)
Michael, some good tips and I will now use them. thank you...may be calling you for some help on my website.
Good morning Michael,

Michael: As always, you break SEO down into bite-size pieces that the rest of us can understand and also implement. Thanks so much!
