Selling Your Home Is Serious Business — So Is Marketing Your Home!

Most all sellers think their homes already has a pleasing appearance — they have fresh paint — they have warm furnishings, and they’ve meticulously cleaned their homes etc. — all of which define “staging” The reality is for most sellers the word “staging” invokes unrealistic images of homes that are upscale and come with an extremely large price tags. Even though most sellers have the notion their homes don’t need “staging”, or think “staging” is financially out of reach.

Most all sellers would benefit from staging in some capacity. In fact, there are a few different levels of “staging” It can be as easy as a onetime “staging” job, (which is truly affordable) to a small design change that comes complete with new furniture, all the way up for the high-end homes sporting enormous price tags. Selling Your Home Is Serious Business — So Is Marketing Your Home!

Usually sellers quickly become turned off when a Real Estate professional mentions “staging” But the reality is sellers need to listen before making a decision. The ultimate prize is selling the property for the best terms in the shortest amount of time. The best way to achieve that goal is to market the home in a way the property sells itself. Sellers that take advantage of “staging” end-up loving it, especially  when they close escrow quickly & with end-up more $ in their pockets.

When it is time to sell your home you have to put the best foot forward. Selling a home is serious business and should be planned-out in advance. When it’s time to sell your property work with your local REALTOR, right from the start they will make sure you are doing all the things it takes to sell your home in the shortest amount of time  as well as for the best terms. Hi Jon - That's a great explanation of the value of properly preparing a home for the market. Asking buyers to overlook clutter and mess, and failing to highlight a home's best features, can be a costly mistake. We're fighting, and losing, that battle with an upcoming listing right now, and it's going to mean a much lower net for our seller.

Hi Jon, hope you are having a great weekend.  Good advice for sellers.  Staging can often be done fairly inexpensively and can mean the difference between a home selling quickly and one sitting on the market.

Hello Jon,  Sellers need to listen and be willing to do things that we suggest.  It is more then just us putting a sign in the yard, we need a win win with sellers and us.

Jon ~ Staging is a needed option for all homes from the least expensive to luxury, from standard sales to short sales. Often our short sale sellers are distressed but a easy staging plan can result in faster and higher offers.

I agree all day. Staging could be as simple as preparing it for photos by organizing it, cleaning it and slightly re-arranging. All very important, but easy, steps to make the home more attractive.

Hello Jon, staging doesn't have to cost thousands of dollars, it is our job to explain the benefits of staging to our sellers and hope that they will be open to it. Staged homes sell faster and for more money. Great advice for sellers!
