First, the Park Hyatt Aviara Resort offers upscale shopping (limited), several restaurants for dining (Vivace is the signature restaurant), a comfortable bar with an outdoor terrace offering gorgeous views of the grounds and the ocean plus their world class spa. You can also enjoy indoor or outdoor dining at The Argyle Steakhouse, located at the Golf Course Clubhouse on Batiquitos Drive. There are jazz concerts in the summer, annual fireworks and other events to enjoy.
Aviara homes were built in the 90s, with a couple of small communities just recently completed (e.g., Vista Del Mar). While each community offers a number of floor plans and sizes there is a consistent look (primarily Spanish and Mediterranean) and feel throughout Aviara with the exception of the custom homes at Aviara Point, the most exclusive and expensive gated community, and the emphasis on an outdoor California lifestyle is evident. Both attached/town home and detached single family homes are found, and homes range in size from under 2000 SF to well over 5000 SF for the upper end homes at Aviara Point with views of either the golf course or the ocean.
Lush vegetation is plentiful and many streets are lined with palm trees and other mature plantings and flowers, and are beautifully tended year-round. Many communities are gated, the bird theme is common as a street name (Kestrel, Surfbird, Spoonbill, Egret, Tern) and each neighborhood is named. The Four Seasons also offers its Residences, for those seeking to live here only part of the year.
