ALL Real Estate Agents Are Part Of A TEAM!

There's been some talk recently about whether being a Big Real Estate Team is better or worse than being a sole real estate agent on a transaction.

Without bashing either angle, here's my view:

I work as a single agent, but believe it or not, I have a TEAM.

There's no way to get a real estate transaction done, from start to finish, alone. It's impossible!

We need help from a lot of people, including the agent on the other side.

Here's a few more people that are on my TEAM:

  • My Broker
  • My Office Manager
  • The various secretaries that help out with things here and there in my office
  • The Title Company
  • The Home and/or City Inspectors
  • Home Warranty Companies
  • Insurance Agents
  • Contractors
  • What about a Mortgage Professional? Wouldn't you like one on your Team?

This list can go on and on.

Still think you can go it alone? I'd love to hear how you do it!

Hi Eric, great post and well said!  Without that team not much would get done!

So true - it takes a team to get the job done. That's why it's so important to choose well when picking the other individuals who will assist in the effort.

Agreed, however, it's important to select your team in advance of your opportunities.

Even though I work alone as a broker I understand I am part of a team.  Thanks for the post.

Jared, thank. Much appreciated.

Kwee, I'd say "impossible."

Sussie, I bet you have a pretty good team set up.

Karen Ann, the "big team" can work, I just think that most buyers/sellers that go that way get disappointed at some point in the transaction.

Ralph, exactly.

Bryan, I'd love to be a part of your team if I lived out there.

Tammy, we do what we know is best for our clients. Leaving them hanging isn't what's best.

Jon, unless you're a mortgage pro, a home inspector, a title company, I don't know how you can close a deal without the "team" I mentioned. I'd love to hear how you do it!

Christine, you're right! There's always someone out there that's determined to NOT be part of the team.

Agneza, yup.

Debbie, I'm glad you didn't name the other blogger. It's my intention to share my point of view, not bash theirs. Thanks!

Nathan, we have to rely on each other!

Corinne, I didn't mention VA's, but they were in the "etc." part.

Thom, I'll give someone not on my team a shot, but I explain the potential hazard of using someone outside of my "gang." I also try to get my person in there for a "second opinion."

Michael, we agree totally.

Fred, I'm sure you'll agree that we plug in our people, when needed, to get the job done.

Eli, thanks. You're another one who gets it.

Suzanne, that's impossible. I can't have the mortgage person, inspector, etc., contact me all the time to relay things to the client. They need to be invovled. But they also need to keep us in the loop.

Rain, you're welcome :)

Roger, you couldn't be more correct. In fact, that's another blog for another day.

Ed, thanks, pal!

Jimmy, if we could erradicate that, it would be awesome!

Michelle, it's a team sport. We all need to work together.

Harry, I just said the same thing to Michelle, above!

Kristie, and thank you for the nice comment.

Richie, thanks, buddy! I appreciate it.

Curt, I'm not sure I follow you. A doctor has a radiologist, anesthesiologist, secretaries, drug reps, etc. on their team. What's wrong with doing it this way?

Jean, you're correct. We all need to work toward the end result.

Kerrie, for sure! You're part of my team, too!

Nancy, that's a GREAT Idea!!

Lyn, every chance I get.

Travis, I'm gonna start doing that.

Terry, and now that you see it, you can start showing how much more Value it brings your clients.

Bob, very little. Very little.

Marte, they all know where they stand. Anyone can be replaced/upgraded, right?

Kimo, in a perfect world, that's the best way. In this business, sometimes you grab people as you're flying by.

Gene, thank you for commenting. And agreeing.

Eric, we ARE a team, whether you are a part of a large company or not.   Being an independent broker/owner I have no agents with me, but definitely have amazing partners surrounding me!

A real estate transaction is certainly a team effort made up of all the people you mention.  Everyone needs to work together for a smooth process.

Eric,

It takes a whole team to get from list to closing even if they don't all work for the same company.

Nicely done.

I do business with a few Realtors that are literally one person operations. I don't know how they do it. Nice post!
