We were driving along when the sign caught our eye. "SuperUltraMegaTastyFood!!" Really?
Ralph looked at me and said " I think they may need our opinion."
Opinions are something we have no lack of, it was lunch time so we stopped.
The greeter statue gave the place warmth and more credibility, then there was a lovely lake view and the waitress was a breath of fresh air. Her delightful British accent made the resort feeling more real (a true English woman.) We had apparently escaped reality.
The menu was extensive and had several of our favorite things. I selected "fish and chips, (and our English waitress assured me that it was exceptional and since she was English she would know)" and Ralph asked for the "Chicken Fried Steak."
A short time later a generous basket and sumptuous plate arrived.
My Fish was delightfully different from the norm with a delicate breading and flavor like nothing I have ever experienced. This says something considering that I was raised by a chef, in the restaurant business. The French fries were above and beyond. I believe that they were battered with some ethereal seasoning. They were a perfect compliment to the generous serving of fish.
Ralph's chicken fried steak was tender with a crispy crust. The appealing tasty white cream gravy was laced with bacon flavor. The accompanying mashed potatoes were so well prepared that Ralph was not even tempted to add salt or pepper. He adds those to everything!
And no wonder the food was extrordinary!!.... come to find out...The chef is "Certified Cordon Bleu!!
Our day netted us a wonderful find. Pura Vita has totally unique food quality that lived up to the sign and then some! It could have been labeled Superkalafragilisticexpealidochiz. Really! It was that good. So much for rendering second opinions!
Be assured that all those who come to visit us will be taken to see Viacitto and experience Pura Vita.
