It's fun watching my July 4th post get more and more clicks

I wrote my post at the end of May, hoping that getting it out there early would help.  And, it seems that it helped.

July 4th 2013 Fireworks in Westchester County NY

As it got later in June, the hits really started to climb and accelerate each day.  Now that it's July, it's getting more hits.  It now has over 3,500 hits (and still growing).  It's #16 when I sort all of my posts by # of clicks, and it got about 500 yesterday.  I hope the trend continues.  Oh, and one of my friends on AR did a search for the fireworks, and of course she found my post (and then reblogged it). I'll be keeping an eye on it these next couple of days.

Debbie - it does seem that the earlier is better for the July 4th post. Last year I did have more traffic and had posted it two weeks earlier. Not sure it matters much as it will be a resource for this week.  I do agree with Ginny.. hard to measure the conversion on these posts. It does give great exposure though! I think the key is to being "seen" for all things local.

Now you've got me curious.  I posted about the fireworks in my area for the June challenge, so it was weeks ago.  I just re-posted it last night, but didn't notice how many clicks it had.....will have to check.

Laura - there is still time...and do it early next year.

Ginny - No, definitely NOT a business generator.  I just did this one to see what would happen.  This is not a priority for me at all.  But, it's fun to see how 1 focused post can do well.  It brings more people to AR and that helps AR's rankings which in turn provides a bit more link juice for us.  I rarely do these as they are not tied to business.

Janis - Yes, I agree on all counts, and see above comment.

Roger - good for you.

Anita -  I hope so.
