Scottsdale Real Estate - Desert Mountain New Membership Program

Desert Mountain Golf Club - FAQ's for New Desert Mountain Membership Program

1. What is the Revised Membership Marketing Program (MMP)?

Desert Mountain is now offering market based golf memberships, lifestyle membershp, Junior Golf memberships, and membership is now available without the purchase of property.  Desert Mountain Scottsdale is hoping these new offerings will help to grow the membership and retain existing members as supported by the Club's Strategic Plan to remain economically sustainable while representing value in the marketplace.

2. When does the MMP go into effect?

The MMP goes into effect July 1, 2013, replacing the Temporary Membership Marketing Program (TMP).

3. How does the MMP work?

Prospective buyers will purchase their memberships during the period the MMP is in effect solely from transfers from the Reissuance List.  The MMP program establishes a process whereby a Reissuance List member will determine the price (the "Ask Price") for which they are willing to transfer their membership to a prospective buyer. The Ask Price may not be less than $65,000 (the Club's "Transfer Fee"). Prospective buyers will be requested to submit a Bid Price, but not less than $65,000, to acquire an Equity Golf Membership (the "Bid Price"). If the member's Ask Price is met and membership is accepted by the Club, the difference between the Bid Price received by the Club and the Transfer Fee ($65,000) to be paid to the Club shall be paid to the member for the Equity Golf Membership and the member waives any claim for any additional refund or amount due from the Club. Members may change their Ask Price on a monthly basis by email or written notice.

4. What is the price for which an Equity Golf -Reissuance List membership can be transferred to a prospective buyer?

Equity Golf-Reissuance List members can establish the price they wish to sell their membership (the Ask Price), provided the amount is between $65,000, the Club's current Transfer Fee, and $140,000, the current membership contribution amount for an Equity Golf Membership in the Club.

5. Where can I direct further questions and comments?

All additional membership questions should be directed Angie Johnson, (480) 570-5500.
