I've made the move years ago and haven't looked back. Simple organization, intutive technology, nice searchability, and MORE! I did do (see blog post from a few days ago) the recent inbox sorting update which I highly suggest- it helps triage your inbox so you aren't weeding through coupons or pinterest updates to get to pertinent email items like contract updates and client news so you can quickly dip in and out of your email and get what you need accomplished.
Thinking smarter means often thinking more simple and easy-to-maintain. It takes twenty one days to make a new habit= simple and small business switches like your email provider that multi tasks (shared google docs for things like file managment for example). Make a move that makes sense, especially if it's free! :-)
