Don't take your freedom for granted!
In my daily ventures I talk to many that seem to take our freedom for granted as it is a given and will always be ours to enjoy. As has been said by many there are no guarantees. Lives of so many have been lost and bodies mangled protecting our freedom. Being in the United States Marine Corp right at the end of the Vietnam war was a real eye opener. Many of my friends and fellow Marines were right in the middle of this war and when they came home were treated like dirt. The military would not recognize the stress disorders, agent orange problems and many were kicked to the streets. The respect for the men and women serving to protect this fine country was at it's lowest point. So many suffering and no one stepping up to help them thru a very tuff stretch in there lives.
Take a look at the lives lost and dismembered bodies of so many from World War I & World War II. The soldiers today three, four and more trips to Iraq, Afghanistan and the tole it has taken. The stress disorders are unbearable to so many. This country has gained back respesct for the Military as I am greatful for I just wish more was being done to take care of our troops post war duty. Yes the military hospitals have come a long way but so many problems our troops are encountering are not being recognized.
When you see a person in uniform take a minute to stop and thank them for all they do for us. There are no guarantees and our freedom depends on all that serve.
Please don't take our freedom for granted and when you get a minute write your representative and ask them to quit wasting so much money on perks for themselves, Presidential trips costing millions, bridges to no where and all the other crap and direct that money towards helping those that serve and protect all of us, our children, grandchildren, great grandchildren can enjoy the freedom they have protected for us.
Happy Independence Day to all!
