Happy Birthday, United States of America, born on July 4th, 1776! And, since it’s your birthday and we love fireworks displays, we thought it would be fun to share 10 places in the Kansas City area to see fireworks on Independence Day, 2013:
1. Corporate Woods, Overland Park, Kansas: We love our new GoodLife Real Estate Group digs in Corporate Woods, and here’s one of the many reasons why! July 4th Star Spangled Spectacular on the grounds just a bit west of our office (10865 Grandview Drive, #2050 Overland Park, KS, to the southwest of I-435 & Antioch in Overland Park, KS). 2. KC Riverfest, Kansas City, Missouri: Billed as the largest July 4th fireworks show in the region, at Berkley Riverfront Park overlooking the Missouri River in KC, MO(Front Street exit off I-35/29). $5(age 13+, kids FREE)—music, food, family fun, and FIREWORKS!
3. Celebrate Independence in Independence, Missouri: Children’s Parade in the morning, then catch the huge fireworks display and live patriotic music by the Spirit of Independence Concert Band at the Mormon Visitors Center, 937 W. Walnut. FREE.
4. Liberty 4thFest, Liberty, Missouri: Reading of Constitution, car cruise, and BBQ contest in downtown Liberty during the day, music & fireworks at William Jewel College in the evening--500 William Jewell College Dr., Liberty, MO 64068. FREE.
5. Ft. Leavenworth 4th of July Celebration, Leavenworth, Kansas: Food, music & fun, Salute to the Union & fireworks at dusk. FREE.
6. Gardner July 4th Celebration, Gardner, Kansas: Enjoy Celebration Park amenities while a DJ plays your favorite songs along with inflatables for the children to enjoy. The Color Guard will be present as well as the local orchestra to join in on the ceremonies and fireworks. FREE, Celebration Park, 32701 W. 159th St. Gardner, KS
7. Leawood Fourth of July Celebration, Leawood, Kansas: Leawood City Park (10601 Lee Blvd, Leawood, KS) will be the site for a variety of new and traditional family festivities. Enjoy some great entertainment, participate in games and enjoy a variety of food vendors. FREE.
8. Legacy Blast in Lee’s Summit. Food vendors, local entertainers and inflatables will be on site at the Baseball, Soccer, Softball, and Football venues before the fireworks show. Legacy Park (1200 Legacy Park Drive, Lee's Summit, MO), FREE.
9. Parkville Fourth of July Fireworks and Festival, Parkville, Missouri. Ongoing, July 3rd - 6th, 2013. Street carnival, community parade, a pancake breakfast, a variety of food vendors, and, of course, a big firework finale on Thursday, July 4. Downtown Parkville, Missouri, FREE.
10. Blue Springs Fireworks Display, Blue Springs, Missouri. Performances by Tyler Farr. 6 Degrees West & Tyler Farr, concessions available. Blue Springs High School Peve Stadium(2000 NW Ashton Drive), FREE.
