Do you move furniture when you install hardwood?

Do you move furniture when you install hardwood floors?Yes, we do! There are some hardwood flooring companies in Westchester that will not move furniture. They will either require you to move the furniture or recommend a professional moving company. At Floor Coverings International in Westchester, we move most furniture for you, regardless of whether we are refinishing hardwood, installing new wood (or laminate) floors, vinyl as well as carpeting.

The homeowner will need to move all loose/breakable items as well as computer equipment/electronics, but we will take care of the heavy lifting. If you have extremely heavy or unusual items (e.g. granite tables, antiques, etc), it's best to have a professional moving company, but for standard items, we can help you.

We always ask our customers if they would prefer to move the furniture or if they would like our assistance. When we are installing carpet, prefinished hardwood or laminate, furniture can just be moved from room to room (or at times across the room) and then moved back the same day. When hardwood floors are being refinished, all furniture (and items) will need to be moved out of the area for the entire duration and then moved back 4 days later after the floors have properly dried. We can return for a separate trip to move the furniture back, or you can move the furniture back at your convenience - just let us know your preference.

Debbie: The before and after move of furniture is a valuable service you provide if the consumer needs it...many do not have the means to move their stuff on their own.

The service you provide sets you apart from the competition. Someone in need of flooring, would be well served to have you handle their needs.

Ginny - Oh, I know.....I was looking at that earlier.  It works on my site since it's my footer, but not here....so this has gone on my list to try to adapt.  I think I only have this on 2 posts (if that), so it should be easy to fix.

Hi Debbie,

How in the world are you going to install flooring if the furniture is not moved already?

Offering this as a service is the best way to go.

It will bring you in additional work.

Have a great day in new York City.

Best, Clint McKie

My bed and my two leather couches are the heaviest things I have in my home. It is a good idea to have personal that will move stuff for the customer.

What, you have to move furniture to install hardwood flooring?  Who knew!

Oh, you mean YOU do it and not the homeowner.

Sorry, my bad.
