 Hurley NY Stone Houses

Hurley NY is known for stone houses, and is home to 10 of the oldest stone houses in the United States.  These home are an important part of the history of the area and for that reason Main Street in Hurley NY is on the National Historic Landmark Registry

It is no wonder there is a tour of  some  of Hurley's stone houses each year, an event that goes on in rain or sunshine.

Jennifer we have a few stone homes around here as well, it would be great if our local Real Estate Council did a tour of them as well.  Hope you get to go on your tour.

Hi Jennifer-hope you had a great 4th. Hurly sounds like another quaint and interesting little town. I thin Miami was still under water back when those houses were built-LOL

George it would be nice if  the stone houses in your area are made available  for a tour.

Marco it is good to see construction that really last, wow 300 years+.  You are probably right about Miami being under water at that time :)

Debbie it is a nice event for those who love history and stone houses.  Van Etten as a street name is another example of the influence the Dutch had on the Hudson Valley.
