Facebook recently unveiled its new feature, hash tags (#). Use hash tags to expand your audience beyond your friends and fans. If you’re familiar with Twitter hash tags then you know they turn topics and phrases into clickable links on your page.
To create a hash tag, write # (the number sign) along with a topical keyword (written as one word) and add it to your post. The more local the keyword, the more targeted the audience. For example, #miamihomes and #miamirealestate would yield a targeted audience in Miami.

Should you not know what a hashtag is: A hashtag is a keyword phrase used in Twitter and now Facebook conversations that is preceded by a pound (#) sign and written without spaces in between, ie #ilovehashtag.
The primary purpose of a hashtag is to bring conversations on the same topic into a single thread to make it convenient for information consumers to view and compare ideas.
