However, I will share with you some of the tips that can get you started. Just remember too, selling your home on your own is like going to court without a lawyer. Its something that I for one do not frown upon. I mean, who doesn't want to do something on their own. We do it everyday in order to save ourselves money. We cut the lawn on our own, instead of hiring someone, we clean the house on our own, instead of hiring a maid. However, it's a time factor, and that's the one question you need to ask yourself, is your time worth more than what you would pay the person cutting your lawn, the person cleaning your house, or the Windsor Realtor who wants to sell your house. If a prospective buyer says something negative about your home, it is better to counter-balance this point of view by illustrating the positives rather than becoming defensive.
6. Pre-Qualify Your Prospects
Don't waste your time entertaining buyers who could never afford your home. Research their financial steadiness with respect to job security, salary, debts, liabilities and credit standing.
8 . Know Your Buyer
Your objective during negotiations is to control the pace and set the duration. Try to determine what your buyer's motivation is. Does he or she need to move quickly? Do they have enough money to pay your asking price? Knowing this information will give you the advantage in the negotiation because you will know up front, what you will need to do in order to get what you want.
