I am a professor at our local community college so the fall and spring are busy times. I recently left a national company to open my own firm and the summer time has been an opportunity to lay the foundation for developing a successful business. As the summer moves on I see all too soon the coming of another semester so the pressure to move forward intensifies.
My primary goals for the summer:
- Open my own firm
- Establish a dynamic web presence and find my site using Google key word searches
- Develop a newsletter for direct mail campaign to 200 local residents
- Post to my AR blog 25 times each month and develop surplus articles to be used this fall and spring
- Offer property management services and promote through billboard advertising.
Progress so far:
- I opened my firm within two weeks of the end of the spring semester.
- My website is up and running and selected key word searches bring up my site in several instances my site appears in positions 3 to 4 on the first page.
- I have the direct mail addresses and am in the process of developing the newsletter template
- Our first Property Management billboard is scheduled to go up July 15
It is going to be a very busy fall as I maintain the current level of real estate activity along with my teaching load. In some respects that is exhilarating. In others ways it is overwhelming.
The plan is to confine my teaching activities to two days per week so that I can continue to build the real estate business. When reaching 20 property management agreements, I plan to hire administrative assistance.
