A Little Staging Faux Pas, or When Agents Stage

By
Real Estate Agent with RLAH Real Estate AB95346

You don't have to e a professional stager to know that it's really nice to have the dining room table nicely set for an imaginary yummy meal.  And one of the homes I showed yesterday had an attempt at just that.

But "attempt" is the operative word.

No place mats?  Paper napkins?  I don't think so!

OMG Pat - looks rather pathetic.... sorry but true. Not everyone understands the logic behind staging.

Pat -- even with appropriate placemats (because I can imagine somebody using a set of those plastic covered photo mats) and cloth napkins, this would probably have still not quite made it as proper staging.

Oh, yes, and the centerpiece is so lame!  And I like to use pretty stemware, too.

Very, very sad "staging" attempt, Pat!  So much about it is wrong ....

Makes the house look CHEAP!  They'd be better off with a simple centerpiece.  Period.

Imaginary yummy meal? I'm imagining a mess without utensils, napkins or placemats. Looks almost medieval.

I agree with Julia, a nice centerpiece is all that is needed. The napkins look like they were just thrown on.

Oh dear, that really just looks like someone left in a hurry and didn't finish what they had started doing. I explain to my sellers and their agents that I don't do what they do all day for a living and I really don't want them trying to do what I do all day for a living.
