3rd Annual Colorado Lavender Festival, Palisade...A Treat for The Senses. Colorado has a lot of festivals...music, harvest, fruit, outdoor activities, ect., but this is the only Lavender Festival in Colorado. It's right here on the beautiful Western Slope in the small town of Palisade.

At the Colorado Lavender Festival you can taste, smell and feel lavender. There are homemade lavender lotions, candles and foods for sale. You can sample the different products at most of the booths. Last year I had lavender gelato and learned to make a lavender salad. I bought some wonderful lotions, and I hope I can get some more of them this year.

Palisade CO lavender festivalThis is a three day festival starting on Friday, July 12th, 2013 and running through Sunday. Most of the events are FREE! On Friday the festival kicks off with a motor coach tour of the area's lavender farms. Lunch, wine and hors d'oeuvres are included. There is a charge for this tour.

Saturday local and regional vendors set up in Palisade Park. Here you will find all kinds of neat lavender inspired products and other natural type products. There are also seminars and demonstrations...most of which are free. Last year I sat in on the cooking demonstration.

palisade lavender festivalLive music will be playing throughout Saturday's event at the park. There are food vendors on hand to give you that complete festival feeling. There's nothing like festival food, and here you can even get lavender gelato.

Back by popular demand is the wreath making workshop and educational seminars. These are ticketed events.

On Sunday there is a self guided tour of the local lavender farms. This is an opportunity to move at your own pace and ask growers questions. The picture to the left shows one of the lavender fields in Palisade.

I haven't missed the festival yet. I plan to be at Palisade Park for Saturday's event. This festival gets bigger and better every year. I plan to revisit my favorite things about this festival and I wouldn't want to miss the new additions, either. I hope to see you at the 3rd Annual Colorado Lavender Festival, Palisade...A Treat for The Senses.

I've lived on Colorado's Western Slope for over 22 years. I love this area and all it has to offer, and I enjoy sharing what I know about my home. As a real estate broker, I also love to share my expertise in this area as well. If you need any real estate information for Montrose County, or Delta County, Colorado...please give me a call.

Debbie, what a fragrant event to attend on Friday.  Lavender grows well in North Texas.  I have some planted by my front door to greet visitors.

Debbie, I had no idea there were lavender farms in Colorado.  A few years ago when we lived in England, I saw the lavender fields there, the wind carried the sweet fragrance for miles from the purple fields!  Sounds like you will enjoy the festival!

Debbie, I think that would be so delightful just smelling everything around the event. I have tasted lavender ice cream but not candy. Lavender is suppose to make you relax and sleep. That's a good reason to have a bowl of the ice cream before bed. LOL

Hi, Ronald...both my daughter and I look forward to this festival every year.

Hi, Sharon...I have a couple of lavender plants on the south side of my house. That location increases us by one zone, and the plants do well there. One is over ten years old.

Hi, Joe...I really enjoy this plant, too. The fragrance is amazing.

Hi, Silvia...I would love to see the lavender fields in England.

Hi, Debbie...We use lavender scented laundry detergent. This is the true lavender scent and not a fragrance. I usually sleep very well, and maybe that is why.

This sounds like a nice festival. I sure wish it was closer to attend. I love festivals and fairs. Well my BPO's have not slowed down, they are coming steady and many at a time. i am being more picky now refusing to do them for banks who cut the fees or are slow to pay. I can better manage my time as listings and sales have picked up but the BPOs are nice income and lead to more bank listings so im not ready to write them off yet

I wonder if you can smell  the lavender in the air. There are some lavender fields up near San Antonio but I have never been there.
