ALERTS for Bronxville, NY 10708 ~ Police Chief announces a bridge closure

First, we had all that rain this June that flooded Bronxville basements and even businesses throughout Westchester.  In some cases, I was having flashbacks to the flooding after Hurricane Irene that filled many of our Bronxville client's homes and businesses.

We are helping home and business owners deal with wet, water damaged basements and finished lower levels all over Westchester County for the past two weeks.

Effective immediately and until further notice the New York State Department of Transportation has closed the Parkway Road bridge that spans the Bronx River to vehicular traffic in both directions. Pedestrian traffic is still permitted on the bridge. Access to the Bronx River Parkway and Sprain Brook Parkway is still available via Parkway Road from Midland Avenue.

Oh my Hillary, the weather has been crazy here - hot, humid and then huge downpours.  Thx for keeping us informed.

Good morning, Hillary.  Now, if only the GPS devices could keep up with all these changes.

Exactly, Debbie.  Good point, but I did link my cell phone to local and emergency alerts and anyone can do that via their town's emergency services.  It might be useful with an active hurricane season on the way.

Hey, Westchester ladies...YES, the weather's been wacky and muggy too.  No fair and now folks are flooding.  At least we moved so the family's not flooding while we clean other folks / our clients' wet basements.  We agree!

Laura:  If it's not a flooded parkway, it's summer construction.  I don't how those guys take the heat on the asphalt, but we need improved roads and bridges.  The U.S. Administration and all are giving money to states to create jobs and fix our broken bridges...can you say Tappan Zee Bridge?

Thanks Debbie, for your comment and we agree on the GPS!
