Stowe Balloon Festival will take place from July 12th to July 14th at the Stoweflake Resort in beautiful Stowe, Vermont. There are five balloon launches planned. The opening of the event is at 4:00 on Friday with live music beginning at 5:00 and the mass ascent twilight balloon launch planned for 6:30. The festivities repeat at the same times on Saturday. There will also be two sunrise launches at 6:30 on both Saturday and Sunday mornings.
Admission is complimentary for the morning launches. Evening admission to the festival is $10 for adults. Children under 12 are admitted for free. This is the 27th year of the festival. There will be two bands playing as well as delicious food and a beer/wine garden.
For the adventurous, a hot air balloon ride will cost you $275. A tethered ascent is just $10. Reservations are requested in advance by contacting KimD@Stoweflake.com. If you prefer your feet on land, you can enjoy watching the excitement and smiles on the faces of the balloonists as they ascend into the Stowe sky.
Approximately 25 hot air balloons will ascend from the Stoweflake property brightening up the sky of Stowe.
I have been to the Stowe Balloon Festival before and had a wonderful time. There is plenty of open space if you would like to bring a frisbee, toss a football or dance.
