The Real Esate Business and it's approachs in the new MIllineum. Things have changed

By
Real Estate Agent with Coldwell Banker

The day I got into Real Estate I went out and bought a cheap suit, showed up at my office. They put me in a chair and sell "GO at it son"

From that day froward I noticed changes left in right in the forms, the way business was done, laws that applied, and morels, ethics, and disclosure.

Life was you picked up aphone, called like crazy, did open houses, and prayed someone liked you then came the computer, and then the Multiple listing service:

Things progresses more, and technology flourished. I began to forget my middle name. But I worked hard!

Cell Phones, and the Internet were on the rise!

The truth is it all boils down to waht we put into this business we will get out. The greatest tools in the World will be developed by it will never replace the compassion and knowledge of Realtors that can amke a difference.

No matter what, it is Realtors that preseverve, work like dogs, and are happy for their customers and clients!

Sincerelt

Tom Braatz

Tom, It's funny to think that we can't live without computers anymore---I got my first in the early 90's but was convinced I didn't need it!  So hard to keep up :)

You nailed it dead on....what you get is what you give. Like the ad copy says 'Real Estate is our life'.....

ok...here I am at 6:30 typing this at the office while I wait for clients who are coming in to give me a gift!

I would think people would want us for our talent, instead we have to tell them hoe good we are.

Where did things go?

You are so right!  Technology changes and offers us newer and better tools to do our business more effectively and efficiently.  But, our hearts and souls is what makes people want to work with us.

I got in during the good years and I'll be the first to admit that, but I prepared for the bad years from day one on the advice of my uncle who worked through the 17% interest rates of the early 80's.

I too have been disappointed with a lot of agents that during the good times took advantage of people for their own personal gain, but have noticed them slowly disappearing and the ones who are staying are the good ones that treat each client like a good friend that they don't want to lose.
