About eight years ago I was thinking about retiring to Arizona. I did not have any preference as to city but since my mom lived in Mesa I wanted to be relatively close to there. My husband loved golf but the idea of spending 4 hours chasing a little white ball around held about as much interest for me as mud wrestling with a snake. I owned two horses loved riding and playing with horses.
My husband visualized living on a golf course the problem was so did I and I did not like the the visual at all. He would be happy as the proverbial pig in
you know what and I would be miserable. So I set out on a search to find a horse property close to golf courses for husband and the perfect place to ride for me. I was in a retirement community where my mother lives and saw a horse trailer, being shy I walked up to the door and asked what is with the horse trailer. She said "I have a horse" I asked where do you keep it and that's when she told me. If you want to retire and own a horse the best place for you is Queen Creek at Will Rogers Equestrian Ranch. It was the best advice I could have gotten. I went on line found a home because by now I was back in Seattle Washington getting soggy in the rain. I bought the home sight unseen and now I am a resident of Will Rogers Equestrian Ranch.
Will Rogers Equestrian Ranch is a 125 lot sub-division with a 10 acre piece of land devoted to the care and feeding of horses owned by residents of the
development. We have 45 miles of trails right out the back gate, we have 3 over-sized riding arena's an obstacle course and several turnouts. There are 160 stalls and a clubhouse as well as community pool. The individual lots are large and all the homes are semi-custom to custom. People are friendly and everyone knows their neighbors. It is a great place to live for both horse owners and non-horse owners.
