A Tribute and Remembrance
Donna and Angela took a trip to Las Vegas to see Garth Brooks
After a long battle with multiple myeloma my wife Donna passed away on July 8th.
Immediately after her inital diagnosis Donna was sent to the UAMS Myeloma Institute for Research and Therapy in Little Rock, Arkansas. She would make the trip many times over the following years
She was treated there by Bart Barlogie, M.D., Ph.D. who is world renowned for his research and treatment of multiple myeloma.
Over the years Donna developed a great relationship with Dr. Barlogie that went far beyond the doctor-patient relationship. In her meetings with Dr. Barlogie he was often dressed in his leathers because he rode his Harley Davidson to work and Donna talked about knowing he was there because the motorcycle was parked in the circle in front of the hospital. She was on the front lines with Dr. Barlogie in the research and development of treatments for multiple myeloma. I can truly say they became friends.
I know Donna would like remberances sent in her name to the UAMS Myeloma Institute for Research and Therapy to help them and the many friends she made there who are still fighting the disease.
