This beautiful community, named after the canyon it sits next to, is home to more than 50,000 residents. Penasquitos, in Spanish, means little cliffs. Because of it’s location, the area enjoys many parks and trails, as well as a quick drive to the beach or city.
In 1823, Rancho Santa Maria de Los Penasquitos was the first Mexican land grant in San Diego County. The captain that obtained the land, Francisco Maria Ruiz built a small adobe home. This structure is the oldest known residence in San Diego.
Homes in PQ (which the area is affectionately knicknamed) range from townhomes and tract houses to custom million dollar residences. It is also located in the Poway Unified School district. Truly a charming area to call home!
