Top 3 Reasons That NOW Is The Time To Buy A Home

By
Real Estate Agent with Infinity & Associates

According to a recent article on RISMedia, the top 3 reasons that now is the right time to buy a home are:

1.  Rising Home Prices:  Home prices are inching upward at an accelerated rate.  Since price is likely the most significant consideration most people have when buying, this is important.  If prices continue to rise, and you buy now, your equity will begin to build as soon as you close.  And home prices ARE projected to increase.

2.  Low Mortgage Rates:  Yes, interest rates did go up a little in the last month, but they are still super low!  And the gurus are projecting that they will go up even more over the next year.  NOW is the time to get locked in.

3.  The Re-emergence of New Construction:  Builders are building again, but not at the rate they built in the mid 2000s.  Land costs more, materials cost more, labor costs more.  New home prices are going up, too.  Buying today may be your best option because the cost of new constructions isn't likely to decrease.

Regardless of what is happening in the market today, tomorrow, or a year from now, real estate is almost always a good investment for the long term.

Consumers are aware of the opportunities in real estate, however, most are unable to buy because they can't qualify for a loan, yet they continue to look at homes, don't they?

Interest rates are definitely on the rise and prices are rising in most areas too.  Best to move now before they go up even further.

Low Rates? You nailed it, but you missed the most important part. The rates are on the rise, as an economics major I would not be surprised to see the rates between 6 and 8 percent within the next two years, so now it the time to buy.

It is definitely that time. We might  never see these interest rates again in our life time!

And inventory is tight, that means sellers are not ready to commit at this time because not enough has sold to make prices go up much. Yes, buyers should take a look now.

Your right

The normal interest rates are around 6 to 6.5% so we are still very very low and all of these buyers need to know that in the low 4's% is still a deal

This is the bottom line for anyone not sure what to do: purchasing a home today is still a good deal.

The best time to buy a home:

  • When you're wasting money on rent.
  • When you plan on staying in the community.
  • When you're willing to responsible for the upkeep of a home.
  • When you have a good job and some down payment money in the bank.
  • When you can find a house at a price and interest rate that makes the payments fit your budget.

Buyers would do well to get off that fence while the interest rates are advatageous and the home prices are affordable.

One of my buyers decided to drop his search yesterday because he believes the condo market is overheated after the media rolled out the doom and gloom headlines, and two units that he looked at sold within a week at near asking. An overheated market is when inventory sits and no one is buying. He believes waiting will get him a deal down the line.

That are all good reasons to buy. I have buyers who were interested to buy last year when it was  really inexpensive to get their dream home but cancelled the contract when the home inspection brought up some minor issues and the seller was not willing to fix them. Now they are sorry and ask me when the market will become as it was a year ago. Sorry dear buyers that time is gone.
