Winter in July in Phoenix? I have lived in Arizona all my life and you would think that I would get used to the HOT summer days. This summer seems to be warmer and more humid now than they have been in the past (or maybe it's my age!). Well, if the heat and humidity seem to be wearing on you, there is a great activity this weekend that you will want to attend.
On Saturday, July 20, 2013 the Phoenix Zoo will be hosting Winter in July. There will be 20 tons of snow at the Phoenix Zoo for your families enjoyment. Come throw snowballs at each other, build a snowman or a snow fort - just relax in the coolness of the snow. There will be snow treats and fun - dancing, games and prizes from Radio Disney for the entire family. What a great opportunity to see the animals while you are there too. The event will begin at 7:00 am and end at 11:00 am. The cost is $20.00 per person general admission or $10.00 for children ages 3 - 10. The Phoenix Zoo is located at 455 N Galvin Parkway in Phoenix. For more information on the event, please call 602-914-4301.
This would be a different activity for your family to enjoy this weekend. Think about how your children's faces will light up with the sight of snow in July in Phoenix.
Even though it is HOT right now, Phoenix is a beautiful place to live. Take time to discover the areas around the Phoenix Zoo. You may find a tree lined neighborhood you like or a new restaurant or store. If you venture to the west part of the valley, visit the Surprise area. It is a nice city with a small town atmosphere and amenities for all ages! Ball parks, city parks, a city lake, restaurants, shopping, beautiful neighborhoods and citizens involved with their community. Come check us out!
