Hospital Rankings State by State.
As local expert real estate agents we are usually asked about questions about the community such as recommended restaurants, best beaches or parks but recently I was asked on how the area's hospitals were. Lucky for me I have never had a need for them so could not recommend from a personal experience so I went and did a little research and am now sharing it with you here on ActiveRain and more.
The US News & World Report has released its annual “Best Hospitals” report that showcases over 730 regional hospitals. The ranking is based on criteria such as patient safety measures, survival rates and objective data. Hospitals are also award in 16 specialties with clinical yardsticks now make up nearly 70 percent of a hospitals score in most specialties. Only 147 of the hospitals were nationally ranked in one or more specialties:

- Diabetes & Endocrinology
- Ear, Nose & Throat
- Gastroenterology & GI Surgery
- Geriatrics
- Gynecology
- Nephrology
- Neurology & Neurosurgery
- Ophthalmology
