Visit Great Falls National Park in Northern Virginia

Great Falls National Park is a great place to visit, that's just minutes from D.C.  Hard to believe these falls are here in our backyard in Northern VA! Only costs $5 per vehicle and you can picnic and bbq here too! This is a great place for families on vacation, or just looking for something relaxing to get away from the hustle and bustle of daily life in the Washington, D.C. area.  Go to http://www.nps.gov for more information about Great Falls National Park.

Jason,

I've been to both sides, and I actually prefer the Maryland one. Big surprise, huh?

Rich,

It's funny that I lived most of my life in MD, but never got around to seeing the Falls from that side.  I'll have to try soon.

Jason- thanks for posting. I've lived here for more than thirty years and have never seen the falls. This will now be on my list of things to do this summer. Thanks for taking time to blog about it!

Thanks for your comment Peggy.  It's really a nice place to visit anytime, but we prefer to go in the fall or winter seasons.  It's not as busy then, and the scenery is great when the leaves are changing. I can't imagine going out there is this heat.
