Today's Women Can Do it All With or Without a Horseshoe!

Women and any man over 65 can Pitch Horseshoes too and get a Ten Foot Advantage according to the official rules. Brook is getting so good at throwing from the shortened distance, we're thinking of shipping her off to Miami :-) My second wife had great eye / hand coordination too and a 163 ten pin bowling average. I throw some pretty good shoes but she challenged me every time (and from the regular distance). Today's women can do it all! Here is a link to the rules mandated by the NHPA.

I love to throw horse shoes but don't know the rules. I will have to go look for those so I can play my cousins and beat their he-men pants!

You know what John!  I'm sitting here looking at those pictures, and I had a thought!  I should put in a couple spikes in my backyard for horseshoes.  I know nothing other than I've watched others play.  How far apart do those spikes need to be anyway?

Hi John, My Dad was quite a horseshoe player, I never took it up, thinking it was for older guys. Now that I am one, I still haven't thought to even try this. I was rather good at darts, I wonder if that would parlay? This lady has beautiful form and I can imagine that her technique is just as good.

Hi Myrl - Go to the link I posted for Sussie to learn more. The pegs need to be 40' apart and the pits have to be a certain size too but in a backyard setting, you can bend the rules a little :-).

Hi William - It's not as easy as it looks. It takes great eye / hand coordination, a balanced throw and concentration. You should try it!
