Yesterday I wrote a blog about July being National Ice Cream month. I have enjoyed all of the comments and enthusiasm from readers about all of the reasons to enjoy ice cream and their favorite flavors. What I didn't realize is that the third Sunday of July has been declared as National Ice Cream Day!
So everyone should enjoy a should take some time today to celebrate National Ice Cream Day with a scoop or two.
Hi Kathy...Oh, everyday is ice cream day for me. Not that I have it every day but wouldn't mind doing that. Right now I'm stuck on a flavor called Heavenly Hash and it is heavenly.
Thanks for reminding me to have a treat tonight in celebration of National Ice Cream Day. I did have some last night so I'm celebrating the month perfectly.

Kathy, I really have to jump in here with Kate above. EVERY day is ice cream day for me. Nothing fancy, though. Blue Bell Ice Cream has a flavor named Homemade Vanilla that is just wonderful. I have my Homemade Vanilla all by itself. No covering, no chocolate syrup, and nothing that will supposedly "add" to the flavor. It is perfect just the way it is.
When I eat it I use a long-handled iced-tea spoon... which takes smaller portions than even a regular "tea spoon." The smaller the tea spoon, the more I get to "savor" each spoonful. All I can say is...
Yum!
I will certainly have my share today! Try the Blue Bunny with half the fat and no sugar! You'd never know you weren't eating the real fattening stuff!

Mmmmmm National Ice Cream Day...I may have to head over to the local shop to celebrate. Hopefully they will have my favorite with the peanut butter swirl! :-)
Well it's almost six o'clock and I haven't even had breakfast. Why not start with ice cream after reading this?

Hi Kathy, I am so sad that I missed National Ice Cream Day! To be honest, I did not know that there was such a day but it does some fun. My favorite is Rocky Road. Thanks for a fun post!
