Cheap...isn't always best.

In today's world of get it for as little as possible, isn't always the way to go.

I compare the junk at Walmart and what my local Hardware store has...(A mom and pop shop).

Yes I pay a bit more but I get GOOD stuff.

Same goes for repairs.

I have a list of contractors...

Most are mid priced to the lower end.

I don't have any that claim to be the cheapest because I don't want my clients to complain about shoddy work.

You can buy cheap now and replace it later or...buy decent now and have it for a long time.

Bill, you are so right. One way to get off my list is to do a bad job. And you get exactly what you pay for indeed.

William, I agree with you, plus I too, like to deal with "Mom and Pop," rather than the big box stores.  Mom and Pop stores have real personality and super personal service.

Good point!  You get what you pay for with most things, and repairs are in that category as well.

It's "priceless" when you find the right person for the job or the right item to buy, regardless of the cost

William, this is the same wise advice my Grandfather gave me years ago.

Agreed. Fix it now once or a couple of times in the future.  I find that the old time hardware store is becoming more & more valuable when you have places like Home Depot & Walmart thrown in the mix.

William I agree.  I like buying where they understand what they're selling and stand behind it!

It can be very hard to find American made or other good quality in a small town.

sometime it is all you can afford for the time being.  Quality is always the best way to go if possible.
